The project LIFE CYCLE aims at combining the goals of health professionals with those of transport experts: to increase people's level of physical activity on the one hand with a higher modal share of sustainable transport on the other hand. LIFE CYCLE promotes cycling as the life-long way of moving – from early childhood to retirement. Using approaches from local to national levels, LIFE CYCLE implemented 15 successful cycling promotion projects with more than 30,000 participants aged 6 to 86 taking part. LIFE CYCLE has received co-funding under the EU Health Programme.
 TAKE CARE reaches practical phase

The project TAKE CARE ("Strategies towards responsible alcohol consumption for adolescents in Europe") has reached the practical phase. First pilot trainings with adolescents took place in the individual countries. The Belgian partner CAD Limburg is working full speed on preparing materials for retailer trainings. The implementation of the multilevel approach TAKE CARE with all four target groups (adolescents, parents, key persons and retailer/employees) is ready for start after an intensive time of preparation.

The WHO report on the global tobacco epidemic, 2011, released today, includes key findings on the progress of tobacco control measures worldwide. Requiring large, graphic health warnings is among the six demand-reduction measures recommended by WHO.
